When you are faced with the decision to have a cesarean (c-section) or a natural birth there are often concerns that go beyond things like scarring, recovery, future births etc., there are also concerns that can affect your baby. Does Having a C-Section Cause Infertility?

Having a C-Section is rarely a cause of infertility. Having a C-Section can pose long term fertility risk and complications, especially if you’ve have had infection following a C-Section or developed extensive adhesions, but the risk is fairly low.

One thing that does often happen after having a c-section is that it may take longer for a woman to conceive.
